Wharekauhau offers a range of options for casual dining experiences. Some, such as the long lunch, are year round; however, we also provide a series of seasonal casual dining experience. Our Executive Chef, Tim Smith enjoys cooking fresh produce from the land and will guarantee to suprise and delight your tastebuds with his natural culinary skill.

The Long Lunch:

Take a group of friends and settle in for a LONG three-course lunch or treat your partner to an indulgent date at Wharekauhau. The long lunch is a three course menu, with a number of options for each course. Why not relax and enjoy attentive service, fine wines, and exceptional food while making an afternoon of it.

Chef Knows Best:
Available Sunday only.
As much as we dislike admitting it – when it comes to food – the Chef does know best. The talented team in the kitchen create a 5 course degustation style menu every Sunday that focuses on the key regional and estate grown ingredients. After lunch relax by the open log fire, or explore the gardens that grow much of the menu produce.
